Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have found plenty of entertaining creations from small studios. However, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired side-scrolling game includes a hero that is literally a turd striving to navigate to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
Player controls is simple: press a jump control. Across 150 stages, you'll face tough enemies and unlock a store to buy skins for your fecal avatar.
Execute your actions carefully, as a error means beginning again. Bounce off floating orbs to launch the poop higher, traverse disappearing surfaces, and activate buttons to unlock new areas. Earn coins to purchase tougher levels in which things intensifies.
Graphically, the experience features vibrant level designs and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist visual style with moving geometric shapes could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.
Even though hard to think of similar titles where you control a dung character, gaming have long included fecal matter. For example, in Death Stranding, you can make throwables from character excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as fertilizer. And of course, this theme shows up heavily in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already garnered significant awards, including winning at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. The demo is accessible now on Steam, with the full game set to arrive on computers this November.
