Travellers are being warned that even small amounts of methanol can cause permanent eye damage or loss of life within 12–48 hours.
Exactly what is Methanol and In what way is it Utilized?

Although it is inherently formed during the manufacture of beverages, commercial firms reduce it to minimal, harmless amounts for ingestion through the purification method.
Yet in certain nations, it is clandestinely blended into alcoholic drinks to cut costs, and as it is tasteless and odourless, it is extremely challenging to detect.
